cardamom pods
in a white tea-pot
brewing smooth mellow
cardamom drink
each sip of tea
is no paltry sip
the room draws
its requisite energy
from the red lilacs
standing in a vase
growing into
the world between us
yonder the sea’s
shelf is calm
no boats caught
in a storm
tossing
breaking them
and here my world
is my Cup
to drink
triumph with fragrance
both in imagination
and attainment
my Cup
is intoxicated
life is not
without my beloved
