Mama

When mama passed away –
In the grey corners of such a dawn,
The entire hospital looked like a morgue.
I was quite right in urging, myself,
Not to weep.
I found solace in remaining stone like,
And deeply silent.
Whatever you do, death has no obstacles!
On the other hand,
Grief takes its own time to reduce.

Sometimes my mother still comes
In my dreams.
She is too young.
I am too small.
There is so much power in her presence!
There is so much light in her eyes!
I feel my mother’s unconditional love:
In her perennial smile.
Mama! is the favourite guest of mine.
In all my filled days of mirth and vision.
