My ‘Second’ Home – Dubai

Not that I need to be reminded, many people tell me that I am blessed to have Dubai as my ‘second’ home.  I propose to go further by stating, U.A.E in its present position finds a prime ranking for itself, internationally.  By and large, the land satisfies the reputation of a peaceful, peace-loving place perfectly elevating itself with multi-national communities.  According to statistics, 202 nationalities are living together harmoniously in the Sheikhdoms of U.A.E.

Trained for advancement, the present rulers are leaders who are very much aware of their duties towards their people.  The UAE leaders thoughtfully consider what their elders achieved through wisdom and opportunity.  Late Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum (1912-1990) and late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan (1918-2004) are illustrious examples for anyone!  Together, they present lasting impressions of their own brave journeys in linking their ambitious visions with success.

What a pity, the likes of Egypt’s Mubarak, Libya’s Gaddafi, Yemen’s Saleh, Syria’s Assad – none of them could gain anything from the active examples of the U.A.E rulers.  What a pity!

As Posidonius (135 BC – 51 BC) – an ancient Greek philosopher said, ‘In a single day there lies open to men of learning more than ever does to unenlightened in the longest of lifetime’.  How true!

After all, there’s a great difference between erratic dictators and benevolent rulers. The proof lies in the pudding…
