Bravo! Emirates Airline Festival Of Literature

Emirates Airline Festival of Literature which was started in the year 2009, won the Best Festival in the Middle East Award on 22nd May 2013. An international independent panel of industry judges voted and selected the festival as the winner.

More than 30 nationalities participated in the 2013 LitFest. It is a matter of pride for all those who contributed in the experience of making the event so successful.

Emirates Airline Festival of Literature is held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Vice-President and Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai.

The Emirates Airline Festival of Literature is the Middle East’s largest celebration of the written and spoken word, bringing people of all ages and backgrounds together with writers across the globe to promote: connectivity, debate and education – including the love for fine books.

In 2011, the Festival acquired a permanent residence at Dar Al Adaab (The House of Literature) in Bastakiya, Bur Dubai. Dar Al Adaab is a hub of various festival events.

Isobel Abulhoul – Festival Director has been awarded the Cultural Personality of the Year by H. H. Sheikh Sultan Bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, the Ruler of Sharjah in 2010. An OBE by HM Queen Elizabeth of Great Britain in 2012. She, along with her team members, strive harder to raise the standards of this great literary event.

The 2014 Festival will be held between March 4-8, 2014 in Dubai.
