I would not have believed that the tallest woman in the world was a Chinese… till I learnt from a newspaper report of December, 2012.
Yao Defen, of eastern China’s Anhui Province, was listed as the world’s tallest woman by Guinness World Records in 2010, when she stood 2.33 (seven feet eight inches) high.
According to the newspaper report of December 2012 – Yao Defen died in the middle of the last month, a government spokesman from Shucha Township, reported by phone.
