The Sufi poet devises!

 

Bulleh Shah says:
‘By wizardry and arrows,
I will capture my Lover –
Who is sulking with me!
I will burn magic-potions
And offer them to the sun
To achieve my Companion!
I will apply dense kohl –
Which will make my eyes appear
Like dark clouds:
To attract my Lover!
With the force of seven oceans,
I will lift my heart’s feelings
To win my Lover – God Almighty,
So that He can show the power
Of His deep affections!’
